Welcome! This site was designed as a result of overwhelming concerns from parents throughout the district in response to the Everyday and Connected Math curriculum introduced in Rockwood 3 years ago (2006/2007). The intent is to bring the facts forward, provide research, information and a constructive arena to share experiences, ideas and solutions. Rockwood parents are not the first to express concerns. Everyday and Connected Math, along with other "reform" or "fuzzy" math programs, have been challeged and thrown out in districts throughout the United States. Not only are parents concerned... See what numerous university professors are saying about the need for remedial math in college attributed to these reform math programs. Our children deserve a true world class math curriculum with proven results! USA, Where We Place Worldwide Is Disturbing! Twenty-seven nonindustrialized nations also took part in the 2006 PISA. U.S. scores in both math and science ranked below those of several countries considered nonindustrialized, including Estonia and Slovenia. See report below for latest U.S math scores. http://nces.ed.gov/PUBSEARCH/pubsinfo.asp?pubid=2008016
